About the SHIP:
The SHIP (Ship for Health Innovation Pitches) is an exclusive event for EIT Health Germany partners and friends to hear about the newest healthcare innovations developed by German, Swiss & Austrian start-ups.

BioTech, MedTech and DigitalHealth start-ups are invited to pitch their innovative products and services in front of an expert jury and the EIT Health Germany partnership.

In 2019's SHIP edition, 12 teams are competing for one of the few places for EIT Health Germany's 2019 Head Start Funding Awards, which support start-ups/SMEs in realising their next steps towards the market and shorten the time-to-market for their innovative products and services.

6 already pre-selected and pre-qualified Start-ups teams will showcase their product inventions and join the semifinals of the European Health Catapult, a collaboration between EIT Health and HealthAxis Europe.

The Digital Hub Mannheim/Ludwigshafen, Digital Hub Rhein-Neckar GmbH is part of the de:hub initiative launched by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs with the aim of supporting digital innovation in Germany. The purpose of the hub is to drive innovation and start-ups in the field of chemistry and health and thereby accelerate the development of new business models and market-ready solutions. To that end it offers start-ups, scientific institutions and businesses a central platform for networking, exchanging information and cooperating as well as the possibility of establishing their own digital eco-system. The hub also makes support packages for entrepreneurs transparent and helps them find the right contacts.

In addition the Digital Hub Mannheim/Ludwigshafen is supporting the transfer of knowledge and the networking of stakeholders in the region, at national and international level.

The basis of the Digital Hub Mannheim/Ludwigshafen comprises seven shareholders. They initiate projects in the network, support cooperation between the stakeholders and ensure a dynamic culture of innovation in the hub. The network also includes a constantly growing number of start-ups and mentors as well as established businesses and institutions.
